ABOUT
Richard is a Thames local who has worked in various fields of Physiotherapy for 10 years. After graduating from AUT University in 2014 with a Bachelor's degree in Health Science - Physiotherapy, Richard moved to Mount Maunganui where he worked in private practice. Richard then moved on to Hamilton where he worked in various roles including assisting with ACC return to work rehabilitation and working with wheelchair bound patients. Richard returned to Thames in 2017 and in 2018 started his first Physiotherapy clinic which he moved on from in 2023 before opening RB Physiotherapy in July 2024.

Richard believes greatly in prevention before treatment and enjoys working with motivated patients who not only want to recover from their injuries but also prevent their injuries returning. Richard uses a collaborative approach with his patients as well as several different techniques such as dry needling, cupping, manual therapy, soft tissue massage and exercise prescription.

In his spare time, Richard tries to practice what he preaches and remains very active. He enjoys training for marathons as well as playing basketball and resistance/gym training. Richard spent 5 seasons as the Physiotherapist for the Thames Men's Senior A rugby team from 2020-2024 and is currently the Physiotherapist for the Thames Valley Swampfoxes Heartland rugby team. He lives in Thames with his wife Anna and two small children Hugo and Lucia.
